Shun Tours Terms and Conditions

Before booking our tours, please ensure you've read and agreed to the terms and conditions provided below.

1. ​Booking & Confirmation

  • All tours offered by Shun Tours are private tours, meaning they are exclusively for the booking party and will not be joined by other guests.

  • A booking is considered confirmed only after full payment has been received.

  • Please ensure that all details provided at the time of booking, including tour date, time, number of participants, dietary restrictions, and special requests, are accurate.

2. Tour Types & Customization

  • Curated Private Tours: Pre-planned itineraries crafted by Tokyo Foodie Sarah, led by Shun Tours Certified Guides. These tours include fixed routes but allow for minor options (e.g., meal choices).

  • Fully Customized Tours: Designed around the guest’s specific interests and preferences. The tour is planned and conducted by Sarah. However, from March to August 2025, when Sarah is unavailable, the tour may be conducted by a Shun Tours Certified Guide while still being fully planned by Sarah.

3. Pricing & Payments

  • All tour prices are listed in Japanese yen (JPY) and include applicable taxes.

  • Curated Private Tours include food, drinks, and activities as stated in the tour description.

  • Fully Customized Tours do not include food, drinks, or activity costs, which must be covered separately by the guest.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking through the available payment options.

4. Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

  • Rescheduling Policy: Changes to your booking are allowed but depend on availability. Please get in touch with us at least 48 hours before your scheduled tour to adjust your plans.

  • Cancellation Policy for Curated Private Tours: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled tour will receive a refund minus a 5.0% fee (to cover credit card/PayPal transaction fees and administrative costs).

  • Cancellation Policy for Fully Customized Tours: Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled tours are accepted; however, if they occur after the itinerary planning phase, only a 50% refund will be issued.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled tour are non-refundable. This applies to all tours.

5. Tour Start & Meeting Points

  • Start times are flexible and selected by the guest at the time of booking.

  • The meeting point will be confirmed in the booking confirmation email.

  • Curated Private Tours: Hotel pickup is available upon request for an additional fee. Please indicate this in the booking form.

  • Fully Customized Tours: Hotel pickup is included at no extra cost.

6. Dietary Restrictions & Food Allergies

  • We strive to accommodate dietary needs; however, substitutions may be limited for traditional food items.

  • If you have strict dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, halal, or severe allergies), we strongly recommend booking a Fully Customized Tour, as it allows for greater flexibility in food options.

  • Guests must inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

7. Guest Responsibilities & Conduct

  • Guests must respect their guide, as well as other locals, shop owners, and restaurant staff during the tour. Any disrespectful or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Please arrive on time. Delays of more than 30 minutes without notice may result in tour cancellation without a refund.

  • Guests are responsible for transportation to and from the meeting point unless hotel pickup has been requested.

  • If a guest has mobility restrictions or accessibility concerns, please inform us in advance so we can recommend the best tour option.

  • The guide has the right to adjust the tour route based on weather, shop closures, or unforeseen circumstances while ensuring the best possible experience.

8. Guide Requests for Curated Private Tours

  • If you have a specific guide preference, please indicate it in the booking form.

  • Guide requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

9. Photography & Media Usage

  • Photos taken by the guide during the tour will be shared with guests via Google Drive after the tour.

  • By joining a tour, guests agree that any photos taken during the tour may be used for Shun Tours’ promotional purposes unless otherwise requested.

10. Liability Disclaimer

  • Shun Tours is not responsible for any personal injuries, lost belongings, or incidents that may occur during the tour.

  • Guests participate at their own risk and should have appropriate travel insurance if needed.

  • While we take every measure to ensure safety and quality, Shun Tours is not liable for sudden shop closures, food unavailability, or changes in tour stops due to unforeseen circumstances.
